Evaluation Instruments in Peer Supervision: The Counseling Interview Rating Form (CIRF)
Choi Youn-Shil

Abstract
Objectives: This study investigated the use of evaluation instruments in peer supervision for improving supervision efficacy.

Methods: This study introduced Russell-Chapin and Sherman¡¯s (2000) Counseling Interview Rating Form (CIRF), which is based on the Microcounseling Supervision Model (MSM). The researchers explored the possibilities of applying the evaluation instrument to supervision for two sessions of counseling conducted with a family with a college student.
Results: The results of the study showed that the CIRF aided both in the development of a reciprocal supervision system and in supervisees¡¯ self-evaluation by providing constructive feedback between supervisor and supervisee and among peers.

Conclusions: The results confirmed the effectiveness of the CIRF as an objective evaluation instrument in supervision practice.
